Fully customized 5 day course at Port Revel

In addition, a fully customised 5-days course can be organised, e.g. with more training with waves and berthing on our SBM/CPM and on our fixed offshore platform, using various kinds of tanker (we have 6 tankers ranging from 38,000 dwt up to 400,000 dwt with various loadings and three rudder types), more work with escort tugs and/or podded ships and/or CPP, or with container and/or LNG carriers, specific work on your local conditions, etc. The course content will be prepared to your satisfaction once we know more about your needs. Please tell us about your requirements in this respect.

Models used:

  • Voyager with pods (1000 ft cruise ship with two 14 MW pods and 12 MW bow thrusters) / Europe (255 000 DWT, loaded)
  • Otello (8 500 TEU container carrier)
  • Ben Franklin (125 000 m3 LNG Carrier with optional Schilling rudder) CPP
  • Q-Max (266 000 m3 LNG Carrier with twin screw & rudder)
  • Antifer (400 000 DWT, on heavy ballast): plus escort tug....

Level:

 

For: Pilotes / Captains

Requirements: Without experience on manned models

Duration: 5 days from Monday to Friday with an average of 6 hours of maneuver / day, over a period from the beginning of April to the end of October

Trainer: Experienced instructors with more than 20 years of experience and Tug captains when using tug

Program:

  • Use of various types of tankers (6 tankers ranging from 38,000 dwt up to 400,000 dwt with various loads and three types of rudder),
  • Work with escort tugs and/or pods and/or the CPP, use the PPU for transit,
  • Work with containers and / or LNG carriers,
  • Specific work on your local conditions: ice, wind, etc.
  • Turning , banks effects.

4 days course

This course is conducted for part of the time spent on the lake with remote controlled escort tugs (two Voith Schneider tugs and a Z-peller tug, all with around 60 t bollard pull). Time is also devoted to use of anchors.
